The most beautiful skiing trails for high performance skiers in Obertauern
Three wonderful high-performance skiing routes have been summarised for you here. In combination with a ski instructor of our own skiing school Obertauern Frau Holle you will ride down the different slopes and off-pistes variety.
Kesselspitz route:
The ascent is done via the Gamsleiten-lift 2. From there you have to continue on foot. After approximately 15 minutes you will reach the Kesselspitze Summit. Enjoy the unique panoramic view and take a deep breath of the fresh alpine air, before you embark on the approximately 35 minute long ski run down in gorgeous powdery snow. The route ends as the name already hints: at the 4 star superior comfort Hotel Kesselspitze.
Gnadenfall route:
You have already heard about the Gnadenfall route via the Gnadenalm ski hut. First of all the Seekareck lift goes up the mountain. Wonderful deep snow descents await you until you reach the Gnadenalm ski hut. From there it’s either piste or back country territory, you decide.
Untertauern route:
This is probably the most strenuous and longest off piste tour. Heribert Lürzer recommends experienced skiers ONLY. The ascent is via the panorama lift, followed by a 10 minute ascent on foot. Enjoy steep hills and snow routes leading you deep into snow covered wintry forests, but please bear in mind, that this tour can be extremely demanding. Duration: approximately. 1.5hours until you reach Untertauern.
